Job Introduction
A temporary opportunity is available for a Project Engineer based at our Church Village depot in Pontypridd. for 6 months. The Projects East Team is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the 132kV system and major construction schemes across all voltages voltages from 11kV, 33kV 66kV and 132kV.
*Depending on experience, you may initially be appointed at a lower salary until all relevant courses and training are complete.

This role is subject to a satisfactory Barring Service, (DBS) check, depending on the role different levels of screening and vetting are required. Some roles require a triannual check.
Main Responsibilities
Main Duties Include:
- The management and control of projects work involving plant, overhead and underground systems, including:-
- Project Safety (Inc CDM)
- Project Finances
- Project Related Network Risk
- Procurement and Contractor Management
- SAP duties
- Maintenance and problem solving on existing plant and equipment.
- The commissioning and maintenance of protection systems.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate should demonstrate a practical knowledge of protection and control systems, including the commissioning of such equipment and should also be familiar with specifications for plant. You must be self-motivated, adaptable and demonstrate a high level of autonomy and work effectively under pressure. The role demands the highest standards of quality whilst maintaining a safe and disciplined working environment. The successful candidate must be mobile throughout the area and may be required to undertake standby duties in accordance with a pre-determined rota.
You will have a Level 3 City & Guilds 2339 and if not already attained will be required to undertake HNC Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
