Job Introduction
An opportunity has arisen for a Craftsperson (Fitting) based in Huthwaite area.
* You may initially be appointed on a lower salary of £29,756 until the successful completion of your training. Once complete the salary will increase to £34,263.
You are required to have a grade A* -C/4-9 GCSE in English and Maths or a Functional Skills Level 2 qualification in both subjects.
If you are offered a position, you will be required to complete and provide a satisfactory basic DBS check that shows any unspent convictions or conditional cautions.
Main Responsibilities
In this role you will assemble PSS, metering units and automation equipment. Acceptance testing and protection testing will also be part of your duties.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful applicant will ideally have substation experience. Consideration will be given to applicants who do not possess all the skills required to undertake the role at present but have the confidence and ability to reach the necessary standards with appropriate training. If not already attained, the successful candidate will be required to study for the relevant City & Guilds Level 2 qualification in Electrical Engineering and complete TAR – which includes daily diary page completion, and a number of tasks and reports as required.
You must be able to work on your own initiative as part of a small team, making on the spot decisions as required and working to tight deadlines. A flexible attitude is essential, as you will be required to undertake other duties to assist the team in meeting its objectives. In addition, you will need to be mobile throughout the area as you may be required to undertake standby duties.
