Right now, we’re looking for two Cyber Security Analysts to join us.

Job Introduction
An opportunity has arisen for two Cyber Security Analysts based at either Exeter or Plymouth. In this role you will assist in the support of new cyber security systems and processes within NGED. You will also be required to carry out tasks in relation to behavioural analysis, phishing campaigns, social engineering, vulnerability scanning and other security related tasks.
As part of our hybrid working approach and in line with our policy, this role allows you to apply for a mix of office and home working. Hybrid working can only be considered once your initial training is complete and subject to business need.
*Please note the successful candidate may initially be appointed at a lower salary until all relevant courses and training are complete.
As the post you are applying for attracts a National Security Vetting clearance there are further eligibility requirements. To meet national security vetting requirements you will normally need to have been resident in the UK for at least 5 years for Security Clearance (SC) prior to the date of application. You may still be considered if, for example:
- you have been serving overseas with HM Forces or in some other official capacity as a representative of HM Government
- you were studying abroad
- you were living overseas with parents

Main Responsibilities
- The daily monitoring of SIEM reports and dashboards.
- Carrying out vulnerability assessments.
- Behavioural analysis to mitigate the risk of the insider threat.
- Investigating and resolving SOC related queries in relation to IT systems.
- Monitor endpoints through utilisation of the EDR security systems.
- Investigate and assist in the resolution of endpoint issues.
- Providing 1st line Support to NGED staff in relation to cyber security related issues
The Ideal Candidate
You should be educated to ‘A’ level or equivalent in an IT related subject and have a thorough understanding and detailed grasp of the concepts, principles and practices associated with Cyber Security. Knowledge and understanding of the NIS directive and experience in the use of endpoint detection and response systems, and other SOC tools would be advantageous.
Evidence of your qualifications will be required prior to appointment.
