Job Introduction

The successful candidate will be required to assist a qualified Craftsperson with general site work associated with the repair, maintenance and construction of underground cables. Progression opportunities may be available for someone who demonstrates a desire to learn and undertake new tasks, dependant on business need. 

 

Main Responsibilities

The work involves being away from the depot, working in and around the Plymouth area, often in a team of two people. The environment requires you to be able to react quickly, decisively and responsibly. You will also need to be flexible in your approach to assist the team in meeting its objectives.

Key Requirements:

  • Ensure before commencing work you understand the task/s that you have been instructed to undertake;
  • Promote and demonstrate a culture of Health Safety & Quality at all times;
  • Ensure the appropriate use of Tools, Equipment & Plant;
  • Report all accidents and incidents;

 

 

The Ideal Candidate

This role is suitable for someone who enjoys the demands of a physical outdoor environment.

You will need to be mobile throughout the area and you may also be required to undertake out of hours standby duties, therefore a full driving license is desirable.

Some electrical experience would be an advantage, however full training will be given.

The successful candidate is required to hold a GCSE Grade A*-G/1-9 in English or Functional Skills Level 2 English qualification.
