Job Introduction
An opportunity is available for a Team Support within the Primary Network Design (PND) team based at Pegasus, Castle Donnington, this will be on a temporary basis for up to 12 months subject to review.
The Primary Network Design team is responsible for the design of the 33kV, 66kV and 132kV distribution network throughout National Grid Electricity Distribution (NGED) and for the provision of technical support to Network Services and other teams within NGED.
As a Team Support you will be responsible for providing administrative support to all members of the PND East Midlands Team and for communicating directly with various internal and external stakeholders including customer’s applying to connect to the NGED network.
You will need English and Maths GCSE Grade C/Level 4 or above OR Functional Skills Level 2 or above to apply. Evidence of your qualifications will be required prior to appointment.

Please note the successful candidate may initially be appointed at a lower salary until all relevant courses and training are complete.
Main Responsibilities
To provide administration support to the Primary Network Design and Engineering Design teams in the East Midlands:
- Process new connection offer enquiries via the CROWN management tool advising the customer of reference numbers, dates, missing information etc. alongside updating all internal trackers and creating a scheme folder.
- Manage the PND team inbox for new connection requests and activity prompts within CROWN.
- Produce documentation for schemes i.e. construction files, Connection Agreements, Adoption Agreements, Novation Agreements, MPAN’s and CT Pre-notes.
- Handle internal and external queries from customers regarding new applications and ongoing schemes.
- Raise advance capital sanction documents and external billing requests (invoices / credit notes / refunds) for all accepted schemes.
- Liaise with NGED’s Credit Control team regarding outstanding invoices.
- Process invoices and purchase orders on the E5 financial tool.
- Close enquiries down and manage the internal filing system for open and closed connection and reinforcement schemes.
- Provide administration support to the Team Manager and the team, i.e. arranging meetings, catering, hire cars, travel and accommodation.
- Co-ordinate capital projects and associated tasks.
- Administrate protection sheet monitoring systems.
- Update central protection records database (Fortis) and paper files.
- Update and maintain conductor details within protection spreadsheets including cross checking to ensure updates are reflected on EMU mapping tool and PowerOn.
- Manage the Protection inboxes
- Production of team KPIs
- Issuing and maintaining substation key/access records
The Ideal Candidate
You must be able to communicate effectively both verbally, and in writing, with customers and other team members and must be able to represent the company positively at all times.
You must be reliable, well organised and be able to work as part of a team and you must be able to work using your own initiative. Possession of basic keyboard skills is essential, and knowledge of applications including PowerOn, EMU, E5 and CROWN is desirable.
