Job Introduction

Opportunities have arisen for Project Delivery Co-Ordinator based at our Birmingham Depo.  Reporting to the Team Manager, you will support the team with project managing small LV (low voltage) projects on the overhead and underground network.  Some of these projects could include delivering HV cable lay/civil activities, LV mains, asset replacement, connections or reinforcement.

You will work closely with other Field Operations teams to support the business with work volumes.

You are required to hold a qualification at Level 2 in Electrical Engineering, Project Management or a relevant subject and evidence of your qualifications will be required prior to appointment.

* Depending on experience, you may initially be appointed at a lower salary until all relevant courses and training are complete.

This role is subject to a satisfactory Barring Service, (DBS) check, depending on the role different levels of screening and vetting are required. Some roles require a triannual check.

Main Responsibilities

  • Project manage the delivery of work and LV projects in accordance with Engineering Directives
  • Project manage the delivery of work and HV cable lay & civils in accordance with Engineering Directives
  • Obtain NRSWA notices and materials
  • Issue planned shutdown notices, make appointments with customers.
  • Issue Work Instructions to contractors
  • Schedule work
  • Determine what will be done in the short term (immediate to one month) within known constraints
  • Prepare plans, schematics, instruct wayleaves, notices, materials schedules, terms, quotations and agreements for all projects and work instructions.
  • Alter own short term programme to meet change in circumstance, within constraints.
  • Advise customers affected of the impact of own activities and projects.
  • Resolve customer complaints, wherever possible directly.
  • Assess site risks, and take action to remove or avoid those risks.
  • Review contractor method statements and risk assessments for tasks delivered by contractors
  • Complete project risk registers
  • Liaise with customers, 3rd parties & contractors

The Ideal Candidate

Ideally you will have knowledge of what a distribution network operator (DNO) does including a general appreciation of low and high voltage networks.  Additional knowledge of National Grid Electricity Distribution (NGED) assets and work is beneficial, however consideration will be given to someone with the capability to build this knowledge quickly.

We are looking for a great communicator, who is well organised and has the ability to plan and think ahead.  It is vital that you are able to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally.

The successful candidate should have a good understanding of H & S legislation, ESQCR & Electricity at Work Regulations.

An NRSWA qualification is desirable.

A valid driving licence is essential for this role.
